12 days in Japan

Oh Japan, the land of Anime, Ghibli & simply the coolest people on earth. Really, this is an understatement, because Japan is the raddest place I have ever been in my life. The people are the sweetest and kindest human beings you will ever come across in your life. I have never encountered such care and attentiveness as a traveler as I experience every time I travel in Japan.

Tokyo

At the Shinjuku Tower, we actually ran into one of the
Mario Kart guys who told me anybody can participate in the race, however you need an international license, which I don't have!  Guess it is time to invest in one, because this would be one of the coolest things to do, EVER.

It was so wonderful to meet my friend from Canada in Japan. It was her first visit to Japan and she absolutely fell in love. We visited the neighborhoods of Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku, Ueno & Ginza.

We then packed our bags and headed to the Mitaka station to see the Ghibli Studios Museum!!! Unfortunately we did not go inside the museum as tickets were sold out, and they only a allow a certain amount of people inside. Oh but it was wonderful just to be there.

Kamakura

Afterwards to headed to Kamakura, to the Bamboo temple! It was beautiful and mystifying.

Kyoto

Then, Kyoto. Which is the most enchanting place I have ever been to. There are over 1600 temples & 400 shrines. So many to choose from! We went to Ginkaku-ji temple, Kinkaku-ji temple & Fushima Inashi Inara shrine. Fushima was my favorite as it is public & open all the time, you literally want to get lost here, as it is incredibly enchanting, specially at night.
We stayed in a Japanese Style hostel, Tani's house, which was like waking up in a set of the Ghibli studios movies. It was surreal.

Nara

Then we headed to Nara deer park. Where we were surrounded by hungry deers who lick & bite for food. But all in all, they are cute & just out of this world.

Osaka

Finally Osaka. Where we visited the glorious Osaka castle & busy Dotonbori neihbourhood.
Japan is amazing and so incredibly easy to travel within. By staying in hostels & using our Suica card we made the trip most affordable. My next trip will be to Okinawa, which is said to be the Hawaii of Japan.
